Racist?

Why are there double standards when it comes to racist terms? I've heard that it's because white people suppressed minorities for so long that we owe them. I don't know about you, but I don't owe anyone anything. I have never oppressed anyone so how do I owe them? If everyone would hold a grudge, we will never get over racism. And having minorities use racist terms against each other and their "white suppressors" is definitely no going to help things along. It's like the eye for an eye thing, it leaves the whole world blind. Double standards should not exist in a free thinking society. Using racist terms in any form is not cool or hip, it's just plain ignorant. It belittles minorities and should not even be used jokingly.

One of my friends told me that minorities using racist terms against white people isn't racism, it's prejudice. How is that possible? If someone makes fun of another race, is that not racism? If I went over to Africa I could be racist just because I'm a minority? Doesn't that sound a bit ridiculous?

I hope that I might have positively influenced your beliefs and made you think twice about the backwards ways of the American culture.

Racism is racism is racism and prejudice is prejudice is prejudice whether you're white, black, pink, purple, green, blue, orange or any other color.

The use of racist slur can be consider racist or not depending on the content that it's use in. However, even in that case, if just one person think the content is racist, then it's racist. It depend a lot on the person perspective. To me, using racist slur in any content is a very sad thing. Think about, did our ancestors suffer, die, and fought countless battles against racism just to give us the opportunity call each other racist slur name whether it be for fun or not?
