Truthout.org has reported that Karl Rove was indicted Friday on charges of perjury.
Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald spent more than half a day Friday at the offices of Patton Boggs, the law firm representing Karl Rove.During the course of that meeting, Fitzgerald served attorneys for former Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove with an indictment charging the embattled White House official with perjury and lying to investigators related to his role in the CIA leak case, and instructed one of the attorneys to tell Rove that he has 24 hours to get his affairs in order, high level sources with direct knowledge of the meeting said Saturday morning.
I've yet to see a mainstream news source confirm this, but I wouldn't be surprised if Truthout outscooped them all.
Though it is pretty funny reading the Righty blogs respond to it, saying that Clinton did the same thing. No, there are vast differences between outing of a covert CIA operative and lying about a blowjob.
Quick question: Is it still considered Fitzmas if we're in mid-May? Speaking of Fitzmas, they haven't said anything about the Karl Rove indictment over at Firedoglake... and they've been on the Fitz watch for months. I'm pretty sure they coined the term Fitzmas itself. They have (at this time) 93 posts about the CIA leak case, more than anything else (except for uncategorized, and that doesn't really count).
Anyway, if this is true, expect a lot more in the coming days about the indictment of Darth Karl Rove. If it isn't true ... well, it wouldn't be the first time.
Oh yeah, and don't forget about the Cheney handwritten notes on Wilson. It's hard to keep up with all this.

Rove absolutely should be indicted. What he did isn't the same as lying about one's private sex life - what he did may have intensely damaged our intelligence operations in Iran, since Wilson was undercover gathering info on their nuclear program... which is of course a VERY big deal to the US right now!
Nolie also talks about Rove in her latest but she has pictures from the Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink anti-war vigil.
Just so you know...Bush left town again!
In the meantime, there is more news from William Pitt since Lp first posted his great blog post. Nolie posted it here.
Nice job lp.

I hope people wake up to all of this and put the Democrats back in control Congress come November. Rove should be indicted for so many things.
He looks like a giant baby too.
Lp,
Right now it appears that the charges against Rove are perjury with people guessing whether Fitzgerald will give him the bigger charge of obstruction of justice. In my opinion, he is going to go for the sure charge right now. The one that is easiest to prove. As time goes on and things shake down more in discovery, I suspect the added charge of obstruction of justice will occur.
For now, it's anyone's guessing game.
Some posters on nolie's blog pretty much echoed the same things too.
On a side note, lp, great blog post and let's keep our fingers crossed that this cyber-frogmarch becomes the real one extremely soon. The waiting is extremely difficult. Plus, we've been waiting way too long for Bush, Cheney, and Rove's accountability moment.
