Wishing I could go back to childhood...

You know...when you're little all of the adults that you know tell you to 'enjoy your youth' and 'it won't last forever'. When I was young, I didn't want to grow up, like some children do, I was just happy being little. No responsibilities, no worries, just doing whatever I felt like doing throughout the day (which most of the time involved staying in with a book). I can’t remember the last time that I had a completely free day where I could stay in my pajamas and read a really good book. Now I barely ever even get the chance to pick up a book, let alone actually sit down and read one cover to cover.

Now it’s all about work…work…work. I work every weekday and I used to work weekends as well until the store I was working at closed (it was sad, but I’m sort of grateful). Now at least I have weekends “free” except that I still don’t have the time to do nothing! Its help with a play here, clean there, and maybe fit in a workout every once in a while. Then, since I really don’t get to see anyone during the week, I also have to make time to see my friends. So even though weekends are supposed to be my time to sleep in and rest, who has the time to rest?! I have to wake up early so that I can do all of my chores and still have time to see my friends.

I think that for those of us who wanted to stay little when we were, WE should be allowed to stay little forever. However, this means that those children, who wanted to grow up, should have to. Life is a hard thing to juggle and I wish that I didn’t have to enter it so soon, especially since I don't think I know how to juggle. Unfortunately I have to make money to pay for things like college, my car, my phone, a place to live and oh yeah, FOOD.

::sigh::Sometimes I wish I could go back in time, when my greatest problem was running out of books to read.
