What if I told you the contest was starting over?
Let the countdown begin . . . as the weeks and days narrow down we are almost again at the end of a contest season. It has been a contest like no other; but what have we learned from the ProgressiveU experience? Now that you have written the blogs, read the comments, and pondered for hours what does this mean to you? With all this in mind what would you change if the contest started over today? Here is what I would do. . .
This season I wrote entirely too much about global warming but I wouldn’t change that at all because I strongly believe in our environment. I would have written a little more about music and its effects on people. I truly think music runs the world. The biggest change I would make would be comments; I want to comment on more material because we all want some type of feedback. Lastly, but more importantly I would have changed my writing style and looked for ways to write and share with people (this includes other websites); trying to learn different writing tactics etc . . .
There is a definite reason to this blog . . . I want to encourage you to evaluate your performance in this term and make changes. You have time to experiment as the contest comes to a close. When the contest is over and the down-time sets in is the best way to recuperate. Take the opportunity to find out what you really love to write about and save ideas for later. This is an excellent time to get your name out there too; while these blogs may not be for points I think you will find it very beneficial and enjoy it. Breaks are great from this website but don’t just come for the competition because you need passion, hope and perseverance if you even want to think about winning the contest. But winning isn’t everything; while it sounds very cliché I have learned so much from this website about myself and posts I have read. Sometimes the experiences and interaction with people and yourself is better than any reward.
