In today's world there is so much going on. Everyone likes to just relax for a while and go see a movie. The movies in this post are either ones I saw at the Sundance Film Festival over the past two years, or foreign films. I believe that independent and foreign films are some of the best films out there, because they don’t have the big studio heads telling them what audiences want to see. These movies are progressive because they bring up new ideas, and topics that are some taboo in other movies.
I have added some commentary and then copy and pasted the movie description from IMDB.
If I'd known I was a Genius – This comedy was incredibly funny and was my favorite movie at Sundance 2007.
Underestimated and completely misunderstood boy genius living with a dysfunctional family goes through a series of life challenges and finds it very difficult to fit in anywhere. He finds his true calling when his path collides with his drama teacher who notices his special gift and potential to become an exceptional actor. He attempts to realize his dream of becoming an actor but not without facing disbelief and contempt from both his family and friends.
Evil (Ondskan ) – This movie is from Sweden, the name in parentheses is the Swedish title, and I believe that it has a good story and great shots and editing.
Erik is expelled from school for fighting. He ends up at a private boarding school where the senior students control the young ones. Erik finds a friend in Pierre, his room mate. The story revolves around Erik who just wishes to be left alone and graduate. He doesn't listen to what the seniors have to say and they don't like it.
The Wackness – This was another comedy from Sundance, but from 2008. This movie also won the Audience Award at the festival.
Story, set in 1994, centers on a troubled teenage drug dealer and a drug-addled psychiatrist -- after the former trades pot for therapy sessions, then falls for the doctor's daughter.
Good Bye Lenin! – This movie comes from Germany and has a funny story while at the same time gives you a little history lesson.
East Germany, the year 1989: A young man protests against the regime. His mother watches the police arresting him and suffers a heart attack and falls into a coma. Some months later, the GDR does not exist anymore and the mother awakes. Since she has to avoid every excitement, the son tries to set up the GDR again for her in their flat. But the world has changed a lot.
If you ever get the chance to see any of these movies I highly recommend that you take the opportunity.

You need to mark the parts you copy and pasted by putting them in italics. Or blockquotes if you know how.

Thanks for reminding me.
Thanks! I am always looking for movies I've never seen before. I can't wait to find all of these, too.
