Today we read about Rob Pierce Jr, who in Easton PA had to save his own life.
While walking around one evening, he was "one a self-proclaimed Crips gang member, the other wearing a hooded jacket and carrying a handgun, police said." (Specifically, that handgun was a .45 Cal pistol, but I'm a stickler for detail)
He was dragged across the street and was told that he was going to be shot. (Makes me think that it was a gang initiation, where you need to kill someone to be finally accepted.)
Thankfully for him (the only one in this case that matters) he had a firearm on him. A .357 Revolver. He shot the one holding the gun against him.
Both criminals were arrested. One had recently been released from prison on drug-charges. Good people, obviously.
Thankfully for all the important people involved, Pierce was a concealed carry permitholder and was able to save his life. If not, the headline would read differently.
Folks, as I say and show repeatedly, concealed carry permits save lives. Firearms save lives. As we learned from the shooting yesterday in Omaha, people who would do evil things with guns will always be armed, and will go even in weapons free environments to kill people. When you make laws that restrict where a person can legally carry a firearm, you only make sure that the only people who have a firearm there are intending to do evil.
Thankfully for Pierce, he wasn't in one of those places. He was able to defend himself and he lives to see another day.

Lance now matter how many articles you find are you really convincing yourself that firearms save lives. Firearms end lives, plain and simple. And the number of people acting in self-defense will always be dwarfed by the number of people who just are simply killed by guns. Guns save lives, but not before ending a million more.
Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted
Guns aren't evil. Guns dont end lives.
People USE guns to do evil and end lives. It is the shooter, not the firearm, that ends the life.
Since there is no shortage of EVIL people willing to end lives with a firearm, then we cannot get rid of the GOOD people willing to defend themselves via a firearm.
Get rid of guns, as the UK is finding out, and they'll start using pipes and knives. Evil people will ALWAYS use whatever weapons they can find to commit crimes. How stupid is it to make it hard on the law abiding citizen to have or use a firearm, when the criminals have no problem ignoring those laws?
Look at the deal in Omaha yesterday.... people, despite a concealed carry program, are not able to carry in a mall if it is posted as a 'gun free zone' . . . but that 19 year old kid (using a stolen sks hunting rifle) illegally brought it into the mall and ilegally shot people.... killing 8, then killing himself.
Who, in that mall, was unarmed? The Victims.
Who didn't care about the law? The criminal.
The Criminals clearly benefit from any laws or policies that restrict the ability of the individual to keep and bear firearms. Why, then, do you support laws and policies that make things easier and safer for the criminal?
Well, there's that saying, "Your best defensive weapon is your mind . . .", and I agree on principle, but if I point my finger at a bad guy intent on hurting me, and shout, "Bang, bang", he wont be afraid of that. And that's really what we are talking about: having the POWER in your hands to intimidate someone with immediate consequences. This is the sad state we have in the USA today: more and more people have no moral compass, they only answer to consequences, like animals. Children are hurled against walls for crying too loud; the elderly are beaten and cruelly tortured for a few measly dollars; store clerks are KILLED for even less!
With power comes the awesome responsibility to use it wisely, and owning a firearm is no exception.
"Power to the People" won't work if the People can't handle having the power in their hands . . .
True. I say it this way:
With each Right in the Constitution comes a Responsibility. You cannot embrace the right without accepting that responsibility.
