This morning my blog is a little short, but it was fresh on my mind, so I thought I'd share.
I get a Quote of the Day every day on my Google homepage. I was quite amused when I woke up this morning to see this quote on my lappy's screen:
An alcoholic is someone you don't like who drinks as much as you do.
-Dylan Thomas
HA! Okay maybe I'm the only one that thought that was funny. I, personally, am not a drinker, but I do know so many people that think like this.
What it did make me think of is how we -ALL OF US- notice the speck in one person's eye before we bother with the plank in our own. We always think that someone else's sins are so much worse than our own. Human nature, I guess...
Today I encourage you to work on improving yourself before you slam someone else's imperfections.
Again, we're all guilty. Self-conviction here.
Keep it real.

Indeed, and people make mistakes, and decide that they can not turn back to fix these mistakes, no matter how much they try. In the end, they either keep doing what they are doing, or improve themselves for the better. It really is too bad to see an alcoholic or a drug addict being drawn in to a world that is so horrible and that is so hard to get out of. I have many friends who are chronic alcoholics and drug addicts, whether it is presently or in the past. But people can not forgive them for some reason, and they go through life thinking they are worse and worthless than they really are, and develop depression over it. It is really too bad..
The world is a cold and unforgiving place, which is why I propose that individually we try to turn over a new leaf.
The most worthwhile changes are made one person at a time.
