Words of wisdom from Brian Regan:
Now that you're all good and laughing, seriously consider what he said. Why do we always need to be better than everyone else? I know this is true in my own life. When people tell stories, I've always got to come up with a better one. I want to be able to say, "Yeah, I've done that."
As people we get a high out of talking about ourselves. It helps us feel better but it makes other people feel low and then we just look like jerks. Honestly, if more people would listen, the world would be a better place.
And it's something that I'm working on. I try my best to actually listen and not just wait for a place where I can jump in. I have a friend who hates it when I correct people. I didn't realize that I do this, but now I'm trying to stop doing it. If just listening would make me a better person, I'm willing to do it.
So, I'm going to try and not be the me-monster. I want to be the best person I can be. So, yeah. Hopefully, I can get rid of my me-monster.

Try to think about what the words you're about to say would sound to the other person. If you can take a few seconds to think about this before speaking, you can see whether or not it's something you should say.
