Replacing Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist comes up with a powerful start in his new position as Governor as Florida. Even though the latest event for him was the disaster that occured a few days ago in Central Florida when the weather turned for the worst, and maybe a few tornados ran through the towns. Apparently, he may be even fighting FEMA too for money for the victims of the tornado incident. Apparently Bush had granted it. Though FEMA still owes alot of people money from the hurricanes that ripped through Florida in 2004.
Even though I didn't get to vote at the time, I'm glad Charlie Crist got the position. Jeb Bush didnt do too bad of a job. But hopefully things will improve in Florida for us, with El Nino going on this year, I think we might have some bad hurricanes this year...boooyyy am I not ready for it.
- DELRAY BEACH - Governor Charlie Crist today announced his budget recommendation of $32.5 million to establish a paper trail for all votes cast in Florida elections. The funds would replace touch-screen voting machines with optical scan machines in all precincts statewide. Also, devices would be added to create a paper trail for all touch-screen machines used to comply with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. Governor Crist’s proposed funding will cover 100 percent of the cost of the machines. “My recommended budget would allow a verifiable paper trail of Florida’s voting system, without placing a financial burden on county taxpayers,” said Governor Crist. “Our goal is to increase voter confidence and ensure Floridians have confidence in the voting process.”

Its not a bad idea, and with the 100% funding, it wont be too bad.
Also, for those that do lack voting confidence,
Every vote counts! Besides, if you complain about something and you didnt vote to change it, you really can't complain about it.

That's a good idea - I think a paper trail is a very good idea security wise, if only because it gives people confidence in the system. The governor certainlty has an interesting last name...
