In previous posts I have mentioned the need to to checkout out the funeral director. I have presented three simple steps to a lower cost funeral: 1: get casket or urn on the internet
2: Consider cremation. 3: Avoid Funeral Scams. It is also important to find out things about your doctor as well as the funeral director. A good way to approach a funeral is to write your kick the bucket list. Put down on paper the things you want to do before you die,
This will get you thinking about funerals in a positive light.
Just as an honest funeral director will always offer a lower cost funeral, a good doctor will say "I do not know" some of the time. He or she will take you through a series of tests to get you to the bottom of your problem. If the doctor after one visit gives you pills and tells you what is wrong with you, get a second opinion. It could save your life.
I encountered an extreme case of an incompetent doctor several years ago. The time you do not want to hear" I don't know" from a doctor is when he/she signs a death certificate.
I took a death certificate to a doctor to sign. I was ushered into the Doctors office. He said he did not know the cause of death. He asked me what do you think? He then got an Anatomy Textbook out and began flipping through the book looking for a cause of death. To say the least I was quite horrified!
Another thing you need to check out with the Doctors are their Fees and the relationship with insurance companies. If a doctor is on board with many insurance companies more often than not he is not benefiting from insurance company incentives to turn away patients. If the doctor's fees are too low there could be a problem. The cheapest medical cost is usually not the best.
To sum up:
Funeral:
1:Write bucket list
2: Casket or urn on the internet
3: Consider cremation
4:.No funeral Scams.
Doctor:
1: Multiple tests
2: Multiple insurance companies.
3: Not the lowest fees
4.:Check for competency.

wow
When my mom passed away we had plenty of money to give her a proper funeral but a funeral director actually said ( we were thinking about it already) why don't you cremate. He said both him and his wife are doing it. He also said that with an urn you could have them with you all the time instead of having to visit a grave site. I even have a necklace that has some of my mom's ashes in it. Most people think this is creepy but they will always be with you.

a good funeral director with a heart for your wishes, :-h
It is very sad how much it cost do pass away and be buried. My father just experienced this with my grand mother. It is sad enough to lose a loved one and the expense and planning to bury them. My dad did a wonderful job with her burial and after this was all done, he went down and set up some of the stuff for his own funeral. I was a little upset at first when he told me what he had done because the thought of ever loosing my father is devastating to me. He just doesn't want us to have to go through what he did with my grandma. I understand and really am looking into it for my own children.
