Online gambling

Its so hard to believe that people have invented a way to gamble online. Gambling has a reputation of being addictive yet people still take the chance of "just playing one little game' Online gambling is a quicker way of putting people in debt, why don't they stop? I think the question is why do they start. There are now places where people can call a toll free number to talk to somone about their gambling problems, its paid with our tax dollars, those same dollars go to make more casinos, therefore putting more people in debt. Why don't they just outlaw casinos, or have a money limit on them. I'm curious to see others opinions.

The justification for gambling is that it produces a lot of jobs and revenue. The down side is that, like any behavior that can modify the chemical output of the brain, it has the potential to become addictive. Organizations dedicated to the prevention of substance abuse are also starting to analyze gambling, though... I know for a fact that this is the case in Indiana (the Indiana Prevention Resource Center), but it might be the case elsewhere as well.
There are many people who make money from gambling and it is a risk that gamblers are taking. People shoudl learn how to control themselves. Casinos should nto be shut down or outlawed just because people cannot control themselves.
