Improve America

Well I've decided that I'm fed up with both Republicans and Democrats and am branching out to form my own Political Party. Some of the ideas might be a bit out there but bear with me. Here are my ideologies the basis for the formation of my new Party for the Improvement of America.

I. Economic Issues: I stand for Free Markets, Government Involvement in the Market only for quality control, minimum standards in labor laws, and in cases of emergencies.

II. Foreign Investment: We should cut back on Direct Foreign Investment, It has not paid off for the US in the past so the only solution is to start reducing it.

III. Foreign Relations and International Relations: The main strain on the US foreign relations is the United Nations, look it doesn't serve our interest and it sucks dealling with the main issues it was founded for: Poverty, Prevention of Atrocities, Prevention of War, and Human Rights security. We should either reform it or toss it out like the obsolete instrument that it has become. In regards to our embassies we really need to give the employees some sensitivity training, they should make people feel welcome and want to come to our Country.

IV.
A. Legal Immigration: This is not a question, Immigration is a key to the foundation of our country, most of us today are the great-grandchildren, grandchildren, children or even immigrants ourselves. But most of us are descendents of legal immigrants who went through the proper channels, like going through Ellis Island or standing in line for hours at an INS office. Legal Immigrants also become some of the most loyal and fiercely patriotic. Therefore I encourage legal immigration and support it and wish to make it easier for these people to come to our country and contribute to the betterment of our society.

B. Illegal Immigration: This issue is a hot button that no one has the balls to take a stand on and when they do they get shot down by the masses. If the first action an immigrant takes on his way into this wonderful country is to go against our laws regarding the way they enter this country then it is not only wrong but disrespectful. If you believe that the United States is your salvation or answer to your poverty issues, then you better respect our laws, our customs, and our language. I don't care about how bad your education was or how poor you are if you want to get a job and live in this country then you better speak English. I mean its the least you can do. My answer to illegal immigration is this we offer this to the "guest workers" register with ICE, sign an affidavit to pay back taxes, put a down payment on your back taxes, work out a payment plan to pay back what you owe, and we'll give you a green card, and in 7 years if you have paid off the bulk of your back taxes and the taxes you incur during those 7 years then you can qualify for citizenship.

V. Defense: This is a non issue, We need to spend money to keep our military being the best fighting machine in the world. Though there are some issues, we need to make our tanks, jets, bombers, and APC's more fuel efficient. Second we need to give our troops effective weapontry, like 45 caliber pistols instead of the 9mm, and instead of an M-16 that gets jammed up when it gets dirty a more old school weapon like the M-14 or even the M1A1 from World War II. Another improvement we can give them is body armor that is light and just as effective as the thirty pound gear they wear now. Come on people its called Research and Development. Also we need Special Operations personal to be increased, and use their doctrine of Civil Affairs to change the image of the US soldier abroad.

VI. Involvement in Foreign Affairs
I'm no isolationist and I believe that it would be stupid to try and be all that would result from that is a global protest at what a bad guy the US is for doing exactly what they're protesting about now. What we have to do is stop taking the moral high ground if we disagree with a leader, someone who is abusive to his people and ruthlessly supresses their rights then we will come and get you in the middle of the night and make sure that you can't continue your regime of tyranny. Any country that makes a false accusation against the US well watch your back you stupid idiots because we can infiltrate a sniper team into almost any location on the earth and we won't be afraid to use them.

VII Border Security
The call by most Democrats and Republicans is to increase border security, well people in the past decade security on the border has quintupled, for those of you who don't know what means it means increased by a factor of five or become five times as large. And the security of the border hasn't become any safer. The easiest way to fix that is by building a fence, but no we might offend the illegal immigrants who can't vote, don't pay taxes, and have should have no political influence. We shouldn't even publicize that were building the fence were making the fence sturdier, because if people have been at the border there is already fence there, it of course has gaping holes and is old, so we need to make improvements on the existing fence and if we have money left over in the budget we can go a step farther. The second issue on border security is no one pays attention to the Canadian border, incase anyone realized that's even longer then the mexican border and it has even more remote border crossing locations. To be fair we'll build a fence on that border too, or wait that might offend some grizzly bear. I meant let's make the existing fence structurally secure.

I agree with almost all of your ideology!! For, illegal immigration, I do not think a sturdier fence will do any good. How about something like the great wall of China. Now, I am not saying that we should just build a wall and isolate ourself. There would be many benefits of the wall. For examply, may scare off illegal immigrants to climb a big wall with their whole family. Also, the wall, if it is made like the China wall, will have a walk away that people are able to walk through. We can use it for 4th of july fireworks, festivals those sorts of things. It would increase the tourism in the area, and will be good for the economy.

Defense: Now, I am not saying go out and build bombs. But, long as there are countries that are better equipped than us, than we should be equipped too. Just for our security, this does not mean that we get to use these weapons when ever we feel like it.

Emotions: You are right, we need more people in the force that are sentimental. Now, not that they would melt by everyword that comes out of your mouth, but have common decency and compassion.

Education: The most important thing that this country has to improve on!!! I mean it is very important. We can not set up introductory classes in colleges on subjects that students should have learned in school. We need to have higher expections from our students. We need to also improve in areas of history, literature, and arts. The schools should have a decent school for all fields of study, and then can choose to master in the field they choose. WE need to need to improve in our education.

The entire fence idea is absolutely ridiculous and isn't going to solve a single illegal immigration problem we have. Sure, it might make the uniformed masses "feel" safer and more secure... but those are the same people who "feel" safer already. A wall, yeah that might work... but in the end if it does work, we'll become a land outside of the world because we'll be shutting ourselves off. We won't actually fix the rest of the immigration problem, we'll just put up our uninviting walls and say it's fixed while the rest of the world looks at our walled borders like we are complete and total morons (and I'd be inclined to agree).

As for education, we definitely need to improve. It's beyond sad how screwed up our educational system has gotten. Instead of letting the politicians bicker back and forth over how to fix it, we the people need to say to hell with it and just do it ourselves. It might actually get done that way because as is obvious by now, the government isn't fixing it... it's getting worse.

You are right we are not going to fix the immigration problem just by putting up the wall. However, I think it will help, and anyways the rest of the world already looks at us as morons. They are simply afraid to say anything, because it is America, and if they do, they might be the next country to be invaded.

I'm not so sure about that. America is quickly becoming hated by the rest of the world and I've had more than my fair share of overseas folks tell me how screwed up America is and how moronic our _____ (insert whatever you'd like here... it's all probably been said) really is. But yeah, maybe they are keeping it a little more quiet than usual because we do seem to have this overwhelming need to invade other countries.

In regard to some of your PIA tenets:

III. Foreign Relations and International Relations:
The main strain on US foreign relations is the US, and your problem with the United Nations can be fixed simply by amending the flaw in your reasoning...the UN is not supposed to serve only OUR interests.

IV. Immigration:
Yes, immigrants should go through the proper channels, but what happens when those channels are selectively closed? We encourage and facilitate immigration from primarily white, European countries but we try to cap it from our Hispanic neighbors and other non-white places (those who probably need it the most). Just as we are so happy to provide asylum for political reasons--especially in cases with big media appeal--but we frown upon it for economic ones. We peddle the virtue of the "American Dream"--oh, but that's only for those we deem worthy or those with the potential to benefit our ideological reputation. And by the way, illegals who have obtained employment with false documentation (which is the bulk of them) are still paying taxes on their wages even if it’s under someone else’s name. So get off the tax issue.

V. Defense:
Sure, God knows we spend too much on social well-being (healthcare, education, etc.) and not enough on defense. Please, give me a break.

VII Border Security:
Good fences do not make good neighbors as far as countries are concerned, and spending billions on a glorified speed bump is an absurd waste of time and money. People who are desperate to be here and are denied the legal means to do so will still come, even if it means using a tunnel, packing into the back of a semi truck, or crossing a desert and risking death to do it. End the incentives for them to come here and they will stop. But, gee, that would entail that our companies stop exploiting them and that labor enforcement agencies stop looking the other way when they do, that our consumers stop enjoying the benefits of all that cheap labor, and that our country stop being an economic bully by exploiting poorer countries just to get cheap prices on raw materials. The US fuels its own immigration problem, and even the strongest fence will not fix that. And don’t bother with the "it stops terrorism" argument either—that’s hooey. If memory serves correctly, the 9/11 terrorists came here on legal visas, then they just stayed. There was no sneaking across the border, especially the southern one.

As a journalism major, I know the importance of some government control over the free market. If the government did not restrict how many media channels one company could own in a certain region, then wew would not be getting the truth or both sides of an issue ever. We would be getting one side continually as channels owned by the same company must take the same stance on issues overal.

The entire fence idea is supposed to add humor to an otherwise serious item. as to the other big issues. these are the first 7 of many tenets. one can only think of an x number of problems facing this country on your lunch break when you go to school full time and work 3 jobs. but thanks for all of your ideas and if i agree with them you'll see them up on various blogs
