New Year, means the start of a year. is on the first day of every year.
in chinese calender, each month we will hav 30 days, therefore, the new year of each year will not b the same with the AD calender.
as mentioned, chinese new year is celebrated by chinese, all over the world. i believe in many part of the world, u all can enjoy the celebration not only thru tv or other media, but also from visiting ur nearby china town.
there are many stories behind the chinese new year, old ppl wil tel their children and grandchildren, why we need to celebrate new year. one of the famous story is regardig a victory in an ancent day, the story is like this...
long long time ago, in China, people were working very hard everyday, as farmers, fishermen... they lived peacefully together and had happy lives, until one day....
a monster come to destroy their farm, houses and killed the people... they named the monster "Nian", which means "year" in mandarin. after a period of time, the monster would come out and disturb the people and make them suffered.
until one day, the people found out that the Nian was scared of fireworks. then all the families would light up fireworks when Nian come. at last, the scared the Nian away, and it never came back again...
the moral of the story can b many... but in my opinion, we juz need to work together and b creative, accept ideas from all, work on the ideas together and share the fruits together.
the biggest blessing of being human is we can share together, no matter is it a hard time or enjoyable time. do not harm others in this new year... Happy Chinese New Year!!
