My sister and I, once again, have gotten into the same old fight as we always do. She went to private school her entire life. I went there until my freshmen year; I got kicked out because I'm an idiot who had the stupid mentality of "if i am meant to be here, i'll stay here". It didn't work out the way I wanted it to, but then again i woulnd't change it for the world. My mother had to put me in the nearby public school and to be honest, I was a bit terrified. I didnt know what to expect. I was lucky that my best friend also came to the school the same year I did. I really didn't mind being there. Now my sister does...or did since I know longer go there. She would always tell me that I'm the black sheep and public school is for hoodlums and that she would never send her kids there because they would get shot on the first day. This really upsets me. All the things she says are wrong with public school (i.e. drugs, sex, and weapons) I have seen in private school over the past year. My friend got kicked out of private school for doing drugs in the bathroom. Sex is everywhere and in my friends private school a kid was almost stabbed. So tell me....what the difference? Granted, public school is over crowded and there are more under achievers. But to me, it all depends on the child. In private school I didn't do my homework so I was considered an underachiever. In public school I decided to get my act together and I was put into honors and AP classes where...the kids were just like those I had gone to school with my freshmen year.

I really don't see a difference other than your parents pay for private school. The school I went to was a great public school. No one was killed at the school. There were 4 school cops on campus. we smoked in the bathrooms.
Although I haven't been to private school I like public school. It depends on the school, not whether it is private or public. One public school we have here is by section 8 housing and almost everyone I knew who went there dropped out. People were raped there, people were killed. It was the environment not the fact that it was public. These things never happened at my school and not many people dropped out comparing it to the other school. My friend went to a private school and she got into partying and drugs and the wrong crowd. She said they were more strict there and being that strict can cause damage later in life...in her cases at least.

Love comments? I do too!
your really right on that. i still have one best friend in private school and she parties every weekend, has dabbled in drugs and basically drinks alcohol like water. and myself, compared to her, am boring even though I have fun.
