Fund education for nurses

This country is in a big time nursing shortage.  There just isn't enought nurses to go around.  This is LPNs and RNs both.  For every year you work in the field they should help pay back your student loans.  Even if it's just half.  When I get through with school I will have a lot of student loans to pay back and I will be working in a low income area.  So why don't they have more programs aimed at nurses??  Perhaps we should push for that.

And if you know anyone who wants to go into nursing, encourage them to.  They can start out as a nurse aide so they can quickly get some money coming in.

The LPN school which usually is about 12-18 mths. That's it.

Then a 2 years associate degree RN program.  Then they can complete a bachelor.

It can work just like a stepping stone.  I am starting with a LPN which I will be finishing end of Feb. 2008.
