I'm a lesbian.
(but that's not all I am - unfortunately for the sake of my argument, I'm sure that's all that most readers will be looking at.)
I read a while back on 365gay.com that Antioch Bible Church was asking its members to buy 3 microsoft shares and to donate 1 of those shares to the church. The goal was to take over microsoft and erradicate all sites that promoted homosexuality.
I still have to stop, pause and let all the maddening thoughts surge through my head before I can continue.
I even had to double check against the website (www.abchurch.org) to see if this story was being reported correctly. AND IT WAS! (After looking today the promotion is now gone.)
Please bear with me for a moment as I let my mind free associate:
ok, so this guy really takes gay stuff off the internet, aside from it not being able to happen because of the first amendment and Bill Gates supporting us, free speech people get upset and revolt, but let's say we don't make progress for a while, what about all the porn sites that support girl on girl action - is he going to take those down too? Does Hutcherson think he can 'purify' this nation? Does he realize that he's living in a diverse country where compromise is necessary for mutual satisfaction and survival? Why do people think we're inhuman? Why do people think that gays don't believe in God and go to church? I hope no one gives me that 'free will' argument because it doesn't work. Why don't, in some cases, people see gays as God's way of population control? Have they seen how this earth is too big and becoming destroyed by repopulating? Why don't people remember that God created man in His image? (**Side Note - if the reader can't tell by my free association, most of the people that argue against me use the Bible as their reasoning as to why I'm going to hell and don't see the illogic of their argument.) Didn't Jesus preach love and hang out with society's rejects? UGH. It's maddening to try and "justify" my existence. I just want the same rights and protections under marriage, not to be made "less than" by others because they don't understand how to be a coexisting human, and even to be appreciated for what I can/do bring to the table. I was made in love.
My girlfriend brought up one of the greatest questions to ask others when they're telling gays what an abomination they are (the question wasn't her own but I can't remember the source of it):
"If you were pregnant, and you knew that the baby would be gay, would you have an abortion?"
Well doesn't that question just getcha?
Liz
