Recently I went about two days without my computer and I have to say it was pretty good. Without a computer I could not check my stocks, email, news, charge my ipod(which had zero battery life during this time), or watch any of the movies and shows I had on my hard drive. The time I would usually devote to my PC I spent reading, writing, and doing my homework.
I’ve been reading The Kite Runner. I think it is a good novel and it is especially interesting if one has an interest in history. I’m sure most people here have read it as it is a popular novel.
It is really incredible the technology we have and just how many things we can do with it. Every home in America with a device that can reach people in every corner of the globe, and yet we don’t need these machines. Life is perfectly fine without them if not better.
Without the distraction of computers I was able to truly enjoy reading. During this entire school reading has felt like a chore. However, over the summer I loved reading. I would spend hours in a book, have something to eat, and then go back to reading. That’s how I felt when I was reading over the last couple of days. Without the Computer waiting for me, I could just read and relax.
(I get really off topic on this posting, sorry about that)

I think too many people spend too much time on the computer each day.
Good simplistic message. I'm a Luddite so I believe technology doesn't do what it promises: make like simpler.
If you'd like to read a blog I wrote about my computer dependence and my pledge to shake free, check it out at http://progressiveu.org/190527-resiliant-human-nature
Not until I came to America did I start depending on computer, everything I do is based on a computer,my classes, shopping and I keep on asking myself how did I live without a computer?Life was so simple and I accomplished most of my goals. I wonder what would happen if power went off one day in America, what would happen???
