creative writing

I've recently started posting on the creative writing section of this site, but I wondered why exactly posting there doesn't give us scholarship points. Is creativity not important to progression?
I'm not so great at the "essay" part of finding scholarships. As many of you can probably tell from my blogging. But when it comes to creativity I can handle that.
Creativity is so mandatory to having a successful world. Without it we would never have the education we need to even consider progression! Our nation has become so saturated with debates over political issues and our wants and needs. Yet my hometown library is threatened by the same politicians that are shaping my city. Where will we be when our books are gone from us? Will we loose the ability to read? Will we forget our history? Will we make the same mistakes again?
It just seems to me that earning points based on our creativity would be a no brainer. Hopefully others agree with me... please reply to this, I want to get the attention of the progressiveU staff. Maybe they'll see that this is something we need!

Thanks for taking the time to listen to what I have to say!

We do bonus point opportunities with the creative writing site, but since the scholarship is about blogging for progress and is generally meant to include current events, public policy, social welfare and similar issues it doesn't really make sense to allow all of the creative writing to count towards the contest, especially given that so much of the creative writing doesn't focus on those progressive principles that are the focus of the contest.

An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't- A. France

that's true... what about a seperate contest? Maybe with a smaller amount?

That may be an option to consider in the future, but for now the Blogging contest takes all of our manpower and a lot of resources as well. When I eventually make it out of school (and loan debt!), I'd love to set aside so much for a creative writing scholarship... that'd be awesome.

Federal student loans are in a shambles. You should read what complaints out there on colleges. Some colleges are not very honest. There are some that are down right sneaky. SOme colleges will even change a FAFSA and you wont know it until it is too late or they reuse a old FAFSA.
Many people I know go into education majors.
