If you've read the federalist papers

Two days ago we had to read a federalist paper form my AP Government class. For those of you who don't know what they are they are a series of letter written by three supporters of the constitution before it was to be ratified. I hate them so much. Our founding fathers are masters at saying what only take five words with twenty. I have to read each sentence three times to understand it. Usually I get through half of the sentence and my concentration breaks. We should have some one translate the federalist papers into today's terms so that we can understand them. Has any one else read the federalist papers?

I've read number ten and will be reading the rest of them soon. All I have to say is: have you ever read Shakespeare (although the true author is DeVere)?
Sure, he came before the Federalists. Of course. But so many people discount anything he wrote because they don't understand anything other than Modern English.
Just because something is hard to understand doesn't mean you should hate it. If you disagree with the messages they're giving, then fine; hate it. But if you just are having a hard time understand what something says, why not do a search online to find a Modern English translation of it, read that, then read the original text? You already mentioned someone translating them to be understood today... well, that exists! You just have to look for it.
It's just important that, if you find a modern translation, that you still read the original text. It will not only further your understanding of the document, but it will heighten your ability to decipher other such items in the future.

Good luck
