After leaving Kansas university, Rock Chalk Jayhawk, for the State Tournament of Chess, I was asked a question that I didn't belive I could answer. "Does Chess make a child more intelligent?" I could have answered yes and established my 3.7 gpa as a reason why chess can make a student more intelligent than those who don't play chess, but I knew also of a person who was better than me in chess, yet not more intelligent in school.... or how people say booksmart. So now I present the question to everyone. Should children learn to play chess in school at an early age, and will it make them smarter?
