I Hate My Liver

I have noticed that there is alot of agument going on about the drinking age. Words such as "Drunk" and "Unresponsible" are tossed around quite frequently. But when are these words really true?

The U.S. has one of the highest rates of alcoholism, and we also have one of the highest drinking ages. How did this happen? I'm not saying that other countries don't have this problem, I just think they handle the non-alcoholics alot better. They teach correctly, or at least the parents do. In Germany for example, a glass of wine at dinner is normal. Four glasses of wine, is not. Drinking to get drunk is not the point of alcohol. Drinking because it is delicious, or because it is social, or because you are in mass. Those are all good reasons to be drinking.

I think that if the drinking age were to be lowered, it would only become a problem if the parents do not teach respect to alcohol. Until then, I will enjoy a single glass of wine, a smooth martini, or attempt to enjoy beer, and continue hating my liver.
