All is fair in Love and High School

Think about it. The smell of a new day, the warmth of the florescent lights, the sound of newly purchased, highly priced, probably jacked sneakers on the cold, hard, unloving linoleum. High School. The place where boys become men and men become subject to rumors, hardships, and the unnecessary fears that they really aren't as great of a ladies man as they thought.

High School. A place of personal torment where children between the ages of 14 and 18 are subject to the most harmful things in the world: words. And yet, despite all efforts, things have yet to change.

Everyday, at least one teenager is subject to teasing, bullying, or some other form of abuse. Adults have tried what they can to prevent this, but they do it with no effect. Unfortunately, we as teens are only heard so far. We have no political views, we have no opinions, we only live. It is only when we enter College that we have a voice. Until then, we pass through the world like ghosts. Not acknowledged, only there. But there is one place where most kids feel they mean something. High School.

I know I might seem to contridict myself, but I beileve that not only is High school an amazing place, but it is also hell on Earth. So, with this in mind, What is hell, but a place in which expression is formed? Could a figurative hell be actually a good thing?

The title of this speaks the truth. All is fair in High school. The only question is, what is fair to you?
