The other day in physics someone brought up the word emo for some reason and my teacher didn't know what that word was. So they explained it to him as, "someone who is really weird and cuts themselves." Which is the wrong way to explain it in the first place. But then my teacher, he started laughing and actually said, "remember kids it's up the road not across the street."
The whole class thought it was hilarious except me and my lab partner who were like ummm....that's kind of offensive.
What kind of teacher would say something like that while he is in a room full of high school students, some of which have probably cut and people don't even know it.
This isn't the first time that he has said something like that.
He is very against gay people also. And me and my lab partner also recently found out his son is gay. In class he has never even mentioned that he has a son. He only talks about is daughter. It's like he doesn't even exist.
I think that it's really strange how someone can deny their own sons existence just because he is gay.
My lab partner and I asked him about his son one day, just you know asking about him like how he was doing at college and stuff like that. And he flipped out. Which is understandable since he clearly doesn't enjoy talking about his son.
I'm not sure how this related to the first part of this blog but I just felt like saying it.
Physics teacher...crazy?

Maybe your teacher just finds that emo kids aren't cutting themselves for suicical reasons, but that it is actually pain inflicited on themselves so that they can feel. Cutting in its basic form is a way that people can feel again. You know the phrase "I'm numb inside" It's exactly the inability to feel anything. Cutting is the result of wanting to feel again. Wanting to have some attention thrown on themselves.
cutting your self horizontally isn't a form of suicide, It's a cry for help. The point he is trying to make is that suicide is much more serious than what emo's do. being emo is being emotional. it's wanting attention and trying to find it in any way possible. I somewhat agree with the guy. and his relationship with his son isn't hardly your business. There are probably things that you don't understand. You better get used to hard opinions because you'll come across them your whole life. It's better to look at things from different perspectives. taking offense will get old
