I wrote this song about relationships. About how one girl is with a boy who is never around anymore. So she takes companionship in another man. Harmless at first though she feels she could be falling for him. These are her words to this man, and how she wants him to leave her to be with someone more suited for his lifestyle and that way they'll both be happier... and all the while her man is lying behind her back with another woman. It's a tale of honesty. If she had been honest upfront about her feelings in the first place she never would have had to battle all these demons surrounding her feelings for another man when being committed to someone. She would have realized sooner that this man she is with is no good to her, and to not be afraid of her feelings. But take from these lyrics what you will, they have many different hidden meanings, but the most obvious is relationship failure due to lack of communication.
I am no fool
I see who you are
I am not afraid of what you’ve become
You are not here
and I can’t say why
But something tells me it’s not okay
I look in his eyes
And I know he’s not you
But at least he sees me for who I am
He knows what I feel
He hears what I think
And he knows that you don’t appreciate me
So lie to me, cheat on me, baby just leave me
So lie to me, cheat on me, baby you don’t need me
You’re no good to me if you’re not here with me
So I lie to you, cheat on you, but I just can’t leave you
The rain is falling
And night is haunting
And I’m wondering where you are
I stare out the window
Out at the street
But there is not a single car In sight
I drift into sleep
And the dreams come to me
But none of them are pleasant you see
A knock at the door
Wakes up my slumber
And there you are standing with… her.
So lie to me, cheat on me, baby just leave me
So lie to me, cheat on me, baby you don't need me
You're no good to me if you're not here with me
So I lie to you, cheat on you, but I just cant leave you.
