Moussaoui Recants; Confession 'Fabrication' POSTED: 3:22 pm CDT May 8, 2006 UPDATED: 3:53 pm CDT May 8, 2006

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Zacarias Moussaoui now says he lied on the witness stand about being involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and wants to withdraw his guilty plea.

Because the jury rejected the death penalty, Moussaoui said he believes he can get a fair trial in this country.

He also said his testimony about planning to hijack a plane and fly it into the White House was "a complete fabrication."

Moussaoui's lawyers said they know the rules don't allow withdrawing a guilty plea after sentencing, but they made the request anyway because of what they call their "problematic relationship" with their client.

// Set DC ad position if(typeof dcadposition == 'undefined')dcadposition = 1; else dcadposition++; if (typeof segQS == 'undefined')segQS=''; if (typeof adid == 'undefined')adid='false'; document.write("");

if ((!document.images && navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Mozilla/2.") >= 0) || navigator.userAgent.indexOf("WebTV")>= 0) { document.write(""); document.write(""); }

Last week, the judge told Moussaoui he had a right to appeal, but only his sentence. And she said that would probably be an "act of futility."

Why should we listen to a man that has already been convicted and is serving a life sentence? Should we have to give him another chance to fabricate another lie to our country??
