What Main Stream Media Misses part 2

Tagged:

It would appear that the future of journalism is bleak if it is anything like what is going on now. As you may recall, there was a troop surge about this time last year. The Main Stream Media had a hay-day with it claiming we were failing in Iraq and needed to pull troops out. Congressman Pelosi and Senator Reid echoed the same sentiment. However, after all the fuss they refuse to report on it now. Granted the MSM is occupied with the 2008 election, but what is the result of the surge? Bombings and attacks are down, violence is rarely seen, and the Iraqis are reclaiming their country. The troops that went in with the surge are back in the United States now and Defense Secretary Gates has said that he will continue to lower the number of U.S. troops in Iraq over the next year. Anbar Province will be complete given over to the Iraqi military in March. The Iraqi people are living their lives again. They are returning from the homes of their relatives because Baghdad is now safe. But the Main Stream Media does not tell us these things. Why? Well, has anyone thought that the MSM might have their own agenda and want us to love/hate someone or something so they only tell us the story they want us to hear? Besides, it’s good news, and everybody knows that only bad news sells. Which paper do you think would be more likely to sell, the one with the headline “Housing Market Crash!” or “Housing Market a Success”? Thanks for all the impartial news stories guys. I’m thinking we need some new people to become part of the media and start reporting correctly.

I agree. There is a decline in honest reporting. News Networks choose what news to broadcast based on their own opinions... I hate it...

On a similar note, it has bothered me that the "news" has become more and more entertainment. I mean, why is Britney Spears on CNN and every other major "news" chanel every day?

I think that a lot of people have bias. You are constantly yelling that the media is bias but it seems that you are also bias yourself.

If you do proceed to become a journalist, as you claim, would you fellow the standard that you command from other people or shall you write bias report without reporting the whole true while projecting your own bias onto everyone else?

If everything is going great in Iraq, than why don't bush get out? Either it is great or it is not great. Also, I think that you are very bias when you bialy accused the Senator Reid and Speaker Pelosi of taking some sort of pleasure in the destruction of Iraq.

If you had a really integrity or fellow what you command of other, you would not say something like that. Do you even know what bias is? Or do you just accuse anyone who do not demonized, promote hate, or violence toward liberals or progressive as bias?

Here is an adviser for you if you plan to become a journalist:

Stop being so bias. Fellow your own advice. Gosh, it like David Duke saying the Martin Luther King jr. was a racist and that the media that reported the suffering of the African Americans people by the white people was bias.

If you really honestly want to be a real journalist, stop being bias or be filled with your right wing bias. Honestly, the world does not need another bias journalist who was hired base on affirmative action.

but your blog does little more than accuse the media of bias repeatedly without offering specific examples which back up the statement. It's easy to say "the MSM has down played the importance of Event A" or "the media is biased toward Party B" but please, offer some kind of proof to back up your statements.
