March Madness is now over

As we head into April, it is hard to contain the joy that is felt just knowing that warmer, better days are around the corner. Yet at the same time, a certian sense of saddness lies in hearts because the beginning of April signifies the end of . . . March Madness and another season of college basketball.

When we look back on the season as a whole, many of us cannot help but to feel betrayed. The 2005-2006 basketball season brought a lot of upset victories, especially in the NCAA basketball tournament. Many of us, including myself, have attempted to justfy these losses; Kansas lost because they are a young team, they will do better next year. Well, as a fellow staff writer at my high school stated, "LSU starts three freshman and a sophomore and look how far they got." I wish he was wrong, but he is right.

Then we have to look to Florida's win over UCLA. Should I even bother going there? All I will say is conragtualtions. Oh well, I guess it is just time to suck it up, accept out losses, enjoy summer,  and prepare for another season of college basketball.

I will miss the basket ball for some time.

Ditto. College basketball is awesome. March Madness lived up to its name--it was complete madness!

I really wish that the championship game was more exciting. Florida just completely dominated the entire thing.

ya, to to be really honest, I stopped watching it half way through because it was a waste of my time. I think that is the first time I have stopped watching an NCAA tournament game.

What do you mean go there? Florida dominated because they were better.

Is it right to think that because a team has a storied history, they should automatically win a game? The tournament championship was about the two teams on the court at the time, which is why Florida had such an easy time winning. They were simply, and more elegantly, better.

I do not want to go there because it was, as someone else said, a boring game. I was hoping that UCLA would put up more of a fight. Show fans and spectators why they were in the final round of the tournament, but I do not really think that they acheived that.

Betrayed? Betrayed?!
I don't think that any fan has the right to feel betrayed at all.

The tournament gives no guarantees, no promises. The team's record is absolutely meaningless once they get to the round of 64.

Betrayed makes it sound like fans have the right to a sense of entitlement, "my team DESERVES to win more than any other team."

That's not true at all, IMO.

I mean betrayed as in, let down. I feel betrayed by Kansas because they got my hopes up all season and then lost in the first round of the tournament. I dont think my team deserves to win more than any other team ,lol, if they had a shaky season or a horrible season I would not be so dissappointed. I really just want to know where the heck the magic was.

Still .. betrayed isn't the right word? It's not as if they guaranteed a win. I'm just saying to take it from their perspective. They did the best that they could, so it's not like they did anything to intentionally harm you (hence the word betrayed.) I'm a word nitpicker, sorry. Stick w/ disappointed, I guess.

I know its not like they meant to lose... but dissappointed just does not seem to fit either...
