The number one most memorable smell in the U.S. is Coffee. It is hard to believe that there was a time when coffee was something you drank at home with dessert after dinner. There are some places where the cravings are so bad that there are 2 coffee stands on the same corner of the street and three more on the other side. Soon enough we are going to be introducing ourselves as "hi, I'm tall mocha cappichino"
But is this the case for all over the country no. Just in the state of Washington and parts of Oregon and Idaho. Why? some people justify it as because of Starbucks getting their start here others say it is because we are so busy and don't know when to slow down. It seems as if everyother store is coffee related and there are more going up everyday. However, in places such as Hawaii and Las Vegas you might be lucky to catch a coffee stand by the airport or in a hotel but still that is only a possibility.
Washingtonians are always running around and so they get that jolt of caffine to stay awake. So if someone comes up to you and says where can I find a Starbucks, or where are all your coffee stands hidden, they are probably from Washington and live with the coffee craze.

I am addicted to Starbucks, and know what you mean!!!
I have been to Washington too!
Try meeting someone in Seattle when they told you to go to Starbucks- even if they told you the street, you still can't find it! But it isn't just Washington, all major cities have their share of coffee shops, what with everyone waking up at five in the morning to go to their dull office jobs and college students who stay up late and skip breakfast. So Seattle isn't much more rushed than any other big city. Heck, downtown of the 40,000 population college town where I currently live, there are a good number of coffee shops. Three Starbucks in the whole city.
You can't find a Starbucks in seattle?
In Tacoma they are LITERALLY every other block... and i know in most parts of Seattle they are every block.
I'm confused.
Actually, in Lakewood, we have one in Barnes and Noble, one around the corner at Safeway, one within a few hundred feet in a parking lot, one just outside the perimeters of the same stripmall the other 3 i just discussed are in.... and I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of.
And Lakewood is a very small city.
:-D

I worded that wrong- I meant you can't find the person, because there are so many possible starbucks to meet them at, that you don't know which one they mean. So you go to the next street and you just give up trying because you don't know where to start.
There's a starbucks in Bricktown of Oklahoma, but there isn't a drive through or a parking lot connected to it, so it is mostly for pedestrian traffic (I.e. tourists)
...Ooooh! Now it makes sense :-)
Yeah, completely agreed.
No one could tell me "meet me in the Starbucks in the Towne Center" because there are three, lol.
