This week President Bush has made several appearances this week culminating in a press conference. This seems to be working for president Bush, he made a similar week long campaign in late November and early December of last year, and his approval ratings went way up. This was the constant style of the Clinton Presidency. President Clinton was always campaigning even when election was not approaching. His Presidency was marked by a constant appeal to the public to support his programs. I believe that this has redefined how the office of the president works with the media. Having these week long campaigns would work well for Bush if he did this about every other week. This would especially help with the public’s view of the Iraq war. The most important way we judge Bush in Iraq is on whether or not he has a plan to win the war. If he is constantly talking to the public about the war we have the sense that that he has a plan. From FDR's fireside chats we can learn that in wartime every president should heighten their communication with the public. There is always doubt in war and the president needs to alive those

He always needed to constant appeal to the public because he was under impeachment for fornicating in the Oval Office! I hope that Bush becomes nothing like Clinton, for that is probably the entire reason why we all voted Republican in the first place after the Clinton Administration. Bush won again for re-election because the other party member (John Kerry) wouldn't have handled the situation in Iraq like Bush is. Remember what happened to Vietnam? We pulled out too fast, too quick, and Ho Chi Men or however you spell it won. Communism took over. But this time, it is with bigger threats, more extremists, and bigger guns. Personally I hope that Bush doesn't tell us anything about the war. Why? Because thats how they will win. Do you realize that terrorists are monitering our every single move? Media is making this hell because they don't realize that by publicizing battle movements and whereabouts that we are putting ourselves at risk for more ambushes. You see someone with 3, 4, 5, 6, maybe even 10 cell phones and you had better report him--hes either a drug dealer or a terrorist. With those cell phones they are interlinking different cells throughout the world, telling them whats happening now and here and there. The technology for them to use the tool of espionage is greater now more than ever. And communication for that to happen is key. This is what I want to hear out of Bush "The war is going fine, we've made a lot of progress and we're pushing through. Have faith. God Bless America"
And thats it.

Bush making more media appearances has nothing to do with being like Clinton! Ahhh BUSH and CLINTON should never be in the same sentance unless we are talking about how the economy was so good when CLINTON came into office because of BUSH sr's policies. Or that its such a relief to have BUSH as a president after having CLINTON as a president. LOL.
My post is not partisan, rather it is a matter of presedential style. I'm not saying all of the Bush's presidency should be completely like Clinton's. I am just saying that he should court public opinion the same way as Clinton, and the same way he did last week. Bush has found it works for him, so he should use it.
