Is there a national blogging day?

Tagged:  •

Alright so around college, people tell us about these various days of celebration.  First, there's national pirates day, then national pie day, and even national mushroom day.  Now I'm not saying that pirates, pies, and mushrooms aren't important aspects of our life, but I think that there should be a national blogging day.

I looked for it on the internet, but I couldn't find a national blogging day.  There are many reasons why I believe we should have it.  First of all, I believe that blogging is the new way to make global changes.  A large percentage of people use blogs to communicate.  I know that I communicate with a lot of my professors via blogging instead of traditional emails and such.  I remember how music had a lot of social impact during the Vietnam days, and I believe that blogging now plays the same role in society today with the issues in North Korea and the Middle East.

Blogging also creates a quick communication system for people from various parts of the country and different countries as a whole.  Look at Progressiveu, it's a whole website devoted to people blogging and getting their opinions out there.  I think blogging is a form of the real education that we all miss out on when we're worrying about getting this assignment in on time and getting the best grade on this test or that paper.

If there is a national blogging day, please tell me, but if not, feel free to think of a day that's really important to you.  Maybe it could be when you first started blogging or blogged or read a blog about something really important.  Maybe in the month of August because I don't think that there are any holidays that month.

National Blogging Day! That's a wonderful idea. I will truly investigate it. If there isn't one, Progressive U can have its own particular day.

If you have any other ideas, please post them on the front page blog. Keep up the good work!

I don't believe there is an established holiday for blogging. However, March 26th is Create Your Own Holiday Day. I vote we use this day to create National Blogging Day!

And I vote it be on July 16th, because it's one of two days in the year I could not find a holiday for. =D
