The media in America these days tends to always be negative. Why is this? I think the media is the reason for so many of our problems. I believe the media keeps the people of America NEGATIVE. I do not listen to self help tapes or do anything like that. But I also avoid negative thoughts, and people. I find when around negative people I become negative. And I believe taht is all people. I think that people are so negative because our main influences are negative. The tv the computer, news is everywhere, and it is rarely good. If it is good we are rarely interested. I think the media is always negative because of corprate america. It is a part of corprate America and it wants good ratings and more money. If the news is always good, then no one is interested. But maybe people would be interested. If a news station tried to make it's news more positive, and not tell about all the news that is negative unless it is very important people hear it. They could also advertise this, and maybe Americans would be interested because it is different. Just a thought.

I think you're right. More people would be interested in the news if it wasn't so negative. Most of the people I know say they don't watch the news or really read newspapers because there's always something bad in it. I myself am one who could definately use a positive change.
People do not want to hear that the day went smoothly in city X. They assume that the day went smoothly in most cities. People want to hear what is not 'normal'. They want to hear about stuff that doesn't happen on a daily basis.
It is also important to note that the media is not comprised of nonprofits. Do you think that the news would be different from a nonprofit news organization?
