This new flick "Horton Hears a Who" or that's what I think it's titled, may have a small message that no one would ever notice. I was speaking to my mom yesterday and she was telling me about this pastor who had a member of his youth that had a dream about this Dr.Seuss book. She had a dream that she was the elephant and that she was the one who was to save these small "who" people. Now, I should mention that this kid had this dream in 2005. The pastor had a revelation, now it's a little far fetched but hear me out. He says that the elephant represents the church, or those who follow God. The small "who" people that no one can hear but the elephant, represent the unborn babies that die due to abortion. And the kangaroo in the story represents the government that try to stop the elephant from saving the "whos" (the babies). Now, it sounds crazy but I thinks it makes a little sense. Well, I'm not against those who are for abortion, but I wouldn't have an abortion myselft, it just doesn't feel right. And now that the movie is coming out The Pastor feels as though it's a sign from God that the church needs to speak up and help these unborn children. With the election coming up, my mother feels that we should be really careful who we vote for. I'm not leaning more towards anyone or anything. I'm pretty confused when it comes to my voting descision. But what do you think about this story? It kinda sounds a little creepy that this movie is coming out now and this girl had this dream in 05' right?

Isn't it crazy how everything can be spun into things they aren't. If you complete a grueling 25 folding process you can make a 25 dollar bill look like the twin towers are exploding. This was obviously planned by the people that were responsible for 9/11. :D

I found this site- in regards to the folding of the currency. It's kind of crazy how that works...

Did you read any of the other conspiracies on the site? Hilarious. Who comes up with this stuff? Thanks for posting the link. That one had fallen of my radar, but I remember getting a good chuckle out of it a few years ago.

I think you can read whatever you want into anything. My best friend and I have an ongoing (thirteen years now) debate about whether "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening," by Robert Frost, is about an extramarital affair (it is), or just about a dude and his horse looking at the woods in the snow.

I actually think the idea's been thrown around before, so it's not really an original idea by the pastor, no disrespect. it especially comes from the famous line:
"A person's a person, no matter how small."
and ediblewoman, for the longest time i thought stopping by woods was about a guy stopping to appriciate nature, but this year they're informing me it's about death. ??
Or any. That's the beauty of good poetry. It manages to say something, but still convey personal meaning to the reader. Think about the extramarital affair angle, too...depending on the school you attend, it could get you some brownie points.

You know there was also a religious theory about NARNIA. I'm sure everyone has heard of that one before.

Well, that one was written by C.S. Lewis, so the allegory is intentional.

In 2001, Dr. Seuss sued a pro-life group to stop them from using a line from this book in their pamphlets. He did not want his book associated with anti-abortion activism.

And pastors have been getting "signs from God" that they need to "speak up for the unborn" since 1973.

Well, if you believe abortion should stay available for those who need it, you should vote for pro-choice candidates.
The evangelicals will always find a way to make every pop-culture medium (movie, book, poem, song, etc.) into a sign from God. Everything is a sign from God. Eminem? Sign from God. Barak Obama/Osama bin Laden? Sign from God. (Duh.) I know - I grew up with these people. Try not to get caught up in all of that. God doesn't need Dr. Seuss's "Who" books to remind the church to rally against abortion... they do that on their own. Anyway, I'm sure your pastor is great, but I think that's taking unecessary extremes. So forget whatever signs you think you see in children's literature and decide for yourself: do you think abortion should be legal? Or should it be the government's choice?
