After the failure of the governement to protect it's citizens from the disasterous aftermath of hurricane Katrina, it has once again failed it's people. FEMA decided to purchase almost 11 thousand fully furnished mobile homes to give to the people who had lost their own. Once purchased the move of the homes was a expensive and daunting task, however they never made it to New Orleans, or even Mississippi, they are in a field in Arkansas. The governement decided to place all the trailers in one field while the kinks were worked out on how to distribute these homes. Unfortunately they did not test the ground on which they would place almost 11 thousand trailers. The weight of the trailers was too much for the soil, and it is giving way. The trailers are sinking into the ground and the frames are bent, making the homes unsafe and unlivable. It is a shame that the politicians did not think or think to ask professionals for an opinion on the best way to store these homes, or distribute them. With these homes 11 thousand families could have started their lives again, instead much like their trust in the government the homes are sinking.

Sounds simular to the ice mishap. Ice was supposed to be given to hurricane victims (Katrina, Rita, and Wilma) but was sent all over the country trying to find a waiting room. No room was found and FEMA was forced to keep the refridgerated eighteen wheelers running around the clock for weeks before the ice was divied up. It seems they wanted to respond quickly and the little issues were passed over.
