I feel like a person should have the right to listen to, enjoy, sing, and share any genre, form, or volume of music that they choose. What is the deal with people hating on each other about what kind of music one or they other listens to. The music a person listens to depends on experiences and how they can relate or simply, what sounds best; maybe even music their parents listened to. No matter what the case, the music wars must come to an end. I love all types of music; I am very open-minded and will listen to almost everything. In some cases, I absolutely despise what someone else is listening to, but why make a big deal out of it? Some people even go so far as to make a huge arguement about how their band rocks and mine flat out sucks. Of course, there is nothing you can say back to a person so determined to put your favorites down, so backing out is usually best. Now, this is just my experience, but I'd like to know how others feel about it and whether or not you think people have the right to attack someone's favorite song, music, band, or genre. If you like one kind of sound and you are going to stick to it no matter what, that's fine with me, but leave me be about what I like and stop trying to force your narrow minded views on me.

everyone has the right to disagree with the kind of music others listen to. Maybe "attack" isn't the right word... maybe it is. You know not everyone is going to like the kind of music you listen to, and if they are the kind of people to degrade you because of it, then they're only showing their immaturity. In my *ahem* drawing class, we all listen to the radio, and though not everyone likes what is on, no one pitches a fit about it. Those who don't like it suck it up and listen to it anyway, and next class, they get to listen to the station of their choice.
But yeah, technically we all have to right to "attack" the opinions and beliefs of others because there is no law saying we can't. We can't do bodily harm to someone else, but voicing a strong opinion is legally okay. So... if someone is giving you a hard time about the music you like, forget'em. Who cares what they say? It's just their opinion. It should mean little to nothing to you, especially if they're going to talk down to you because you like something different.
I think people have to right to not like the music you are listening to. Now if they start arguing about whose bands are better, then no one will win, cuz that is completely based on the indivual and what kind of music those people listen to. But I agree, it shouldn't matter that much. As long as you are'n't being forced to listen to stuff you don't like, just relax and live life.
