I believe that most of the people here have seen the news on the U.S.A today about President Bush commanding the NSA to collect the communicating phone records of the citizens after 911 in able to " Protect the U.S.A from the terrorists". Is that neccesary, sometimes I just don't see any sense in things Bush is doing, especially the Irag war as to bring democracy and freedom to the coutry according to his saying.
The the At&T, Bell South and Verizon all agreed to the NSA's demand for goiving the NSA the call records of their clients however the Qwest company did not! On the 12th, the Qwest's ex CEO Joseph Nacchio's lawyer made a statement about the Qwest's decision for not following the requist of the NSA. The lawyer said that Nacchio qestioned the possibility of violeting the pritvacy law of the FBI since the NSA did not obtain the permit of gathering the information or the command of the court. Therefore, Nacchio told his workers to refused the NSA. After Nacchio, Richard Notebaert replaced him and countinued Nacchio's notion against the NSA and completely stopped and rejected the NSA in 2004.
Also, Verizon was accused by two lawyers, Bruce Afran and Carl Mayer for giving the information of their clients to the NSA and it is against the constitution. Moreover, the NSA did this without any permits from the court or the citizens except Bush. Bush is just being rediculous!
Isn't Qwest great that it can stand it's feet on the force of the NSA and really considered the whole thing with other laws and most importanly the rights of his clients. I feel lucky for these people who are using the Qwest.
