So, we all know what life is...I mean we're all living it. It's just life. But deeper down, what is it? Who cares about the meaning of life because we all know it's not something you can know. But just why is their life in the first place? Doesn't it just seem like we don't really need to exist?
With the way we're all led to believe in morals, values, and kindness, how can we know that those are truly the right things? Those things didn't really develop until we were able to stop worrying about survival and we could do other things. You know what I'm talking about...way back when in the Middle East when agriculture was invented.
Before it was invented, what were people doing? They were surviving. Morals and kindness to others didn't really have a place because it could just end up killing you. But these days, we all have leisure time where we can do anything. So, why did we choose to develop morals, values, and kindness to others? I don't believe that there's anything wrong with that, but I just wonder why we developed those "good" norms instead of say tyranny and oppression. It seems like it was just a chance that we developed what we see as good.
If anyone has any answers to this question, I'd enjoy your input because this is a pretty unanswerable question if you ask me. Of course, someone could easily explain their views of it, but it's impossible to know who'd be right.

Hmmm... that's going on the premise that we are just a cosmic accident. The fact is that a ton of people don't think that way and thus they find meaning for their lives. But, going off of your premise(which we can't assume to be true...) I'd have to say that people "developed" morals out of the need to coexist in order to live. The fact is that if humans ran around alone, they would be hunted and killed by other people and animals. So people developed laws for coexisting peacefully. Of course you have people who break these laws, ie. murderers, rapists, etc... but for the most part, out of a need to coexist, people try not to go against these laws too much. Tyrants are people with enough power that they don't have to care about what most people think. They are a supply for their minions. For instance, lets say that most of the people on Cuba hate Fidel Castro. He doesn't care. He owns the military and if the people want to live then they follow what he says. It's a twisted form of coexistance but it works sometimes. I highly doubt that, before humans "developed" agriculture, they were nomads that killed off people as they pleased. To be protected from wild animals and to pool resourses, they cooperated with other people they came across, unless they were more powerful, then sometimes they would just take over the other tribe as well. But I highly doubt that that was what everyone did because if you go around killing people then eventually someone's going to get the same idea for you. No, they were as smart as us. They would cooperate when they could...
