Soldiers and CIA are Trained Terrorists

Before people throw knifes at me, I would like to say that I support our soldiers. I do not think of them as killers or murderers. However, Iran thought it would be a nice revenge to label our CIA and soldiers are "Terrorists." I'm just trying to see the world through their eyes.

Soldiers are just doing their job. They did not sign up to kill. They went over there to protect people and make peace with the other nation. Sometimes force is needed. Right? If the soldiers don't kill, then they get killed. It's clearly self defense. Besides, higher commanders tell them what they have do and the steps they need to follow...isn't that almost like assassination, Mr. Bush?

I feel bad for soldiers sometimes. I wonder what it feels like to kill people in lines of duty. Is it possible that someone signs up to become a soldier just to have excuses to kill or to hold guns? I hear people talk about police violence all the time. How about soldiers? Is it really okay for soldiers to treat their prisoners harshly because they're criminals? There must be a corruption in an Army too. But we probably wouldn't want to think about it anyway.

Do we really have the right to get mad when people call our soldiers "Terrorists"? I mean, we sometimes call soldiers from other nations terrorists too. When people attack us, we call them terrorists. When we attack them, we call ourselves heroes. We have nuclear weapons too. Actually, we were the first people to use it in a war (World War II history with Japan, anyone remembers?) Yet, we tell others not to use it. It's like telling people how bad sex is when you've already done it. (Yes, bad comparison...but you get my point).

Here are some articles I've been looking at:
http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/meast/09/29/iran.parliament/index.html
http://www.hrw.org/english/docs/2005/09/25/usint11776.htm

Agreed! They have every right to call us terrorists, and I'm sure we've caused some terror for someone. It's so easy to forget that there is a war because it isn't right in your face. You can choose to shut it off here, or ignore it completely. They have no choice but to see, hear and experiance it evey day.

neither our soldiers, nor the CIA, are terrorists. Iran knows it. They don't really believe that we are terrorists.

There is a bill going through Congress to label Iran a terrorist state and to label one of their paramilitary organizations as a terrorist organization. To respond, before the bill even gets out of Congress, Iran passed their own 'non-binding resolution' to consider our military and CIA terrorist organizations.

People can say anything they want, but no matter how many people say that our soldiers are terrorists, it isn't true. it is just enemy propaganda, designed to destroy the moral of the American Voters, to demand that we leave the 'poor and innocent Iranians' alone so they can finish their nuclear weapons and nuke Israel.

sometimes the 'other viewpoint' is a lie. This would be a prime example. Yes, there will be people who will talk about all the 'terror-inducing' activities that the United States military has done, most in 'generalities' such as "you know it happens!" or in overexaggerations like "Gitmo!" and such. People often recite misinformation and lies under the guise of being 'open-minded' . . . don't be so openminded that your brain falls out.

I think this is a very valuable issue on other people's points of view.

We Americans are so caught up in feeding ourselves this line that we are always right, whether or not we really are. If we truly are wreaking terror and havoc onto other peoples, then we really do deserve the name "terrorist". And I think it is extremely important to see the world through other people's eyes. It is the only way to understand and share compassion.

You have a very important "IF" in your statement.

IF we truly are wreaking terror and havoc onto other peoples...

yes. if. but, we aren't. All through iraq, we get thanks from the Iraqi people. They even named a College after us.

Now, the people we are fighting aren't happy with us being there, as we're taking away their power to oppress.

Now, while your first point, that we don't have to view ourselves as "always right', is correct.... there is room for debate on our actions in terms of what is the best way to move forward... it doesn't mean that one either agrees that we're terrorists or we're wholly right.

There is a LARGE middle ground. I would suggest, however, that someone calling the united states a terrorist organization loses any credibility in a debate about how to proceed in the war on terrorism, as they are siding, directly, with the anti-american forces.

half a dozen decades ago, it would have been considered treason, and rightly so. Siding with the enemy by agreeing with this false idea that we're the terrorists only serves to give our enemy a morale boost.

While in today's day and age, one can say almost anything and get away with it, one needs to also take the responsibility and think about how their words are being used in all parts of the world (Especially with the internet, where people from anywhere on the planet can read it.)

I feel so bad for our soldiers. I know it's got to be hard to just kill somebody and have to keep going with your life, knowing that if you don't kill, you'll be killed. I could never do it, so I commend those who are fighting for the right reasons. But there are deffinitely some corrupted people in the army. I don't know if any of you read Seventeen Magazine but there was an article a couple of months back about a soldier who was just cold blooded. I don't remember the story too well, but I believe he took advantage of a teenage girl in Iraq and killed most of her family. He just hates the race. It's horrible that people would join the army just so they could kill..because they get some type of twisted pleasure from it. Not everyone over there is bad, and not everyone over here is good. So I agree with you, we need to take into consideration that many of our soldiers fight for the same reasons as theirs. We may be worlds apart, but we're not that different.
