My Mom Rules

I realized yesterday the woman that I want to become. I want to become just like my mom. Well, not completely. I know this sounds a bit childish but let me explain. My mother is sucessful, raised two childen basically on her own, and is very smart.

I was talking to her yesterday about work and I realize how strong she is especially in the work place. She is in a high position of power and she has to deal with many of the discrimations that are subtle in the office. Things like, the men having little talks with out her about current projects going on at work etc etc. There is a glass ceiling but I think my mom is starting to crack it. She doesn't allow the men to bother her and she does her job and she does it well.

I think many people are intimidated by a strong woman. But, this is the person I want to become. I want to be able to make over $200,000 a year and realize that it was because of me and my hard work. I do want to be able to support my family with out the help of a man (we all know today how devorce rates are). I'm not saying that being a stay at home mom is a bad thing. Of course, being a mother is a very hard job and I respect moms that do stay at home and take care of their kids. What I don't like to see is a mother that has no self interests, that doesn't take time out for herself, and caters to her kid's every want and need. At that time you've become a slave to your home life. I've seen this in many stay at home mom's and they are usually under appreciated and treated horribly by their kids.

I respect my mother greately. She has managed to get an education, become successful, raise two child while teaching them good morals and the importance of education. She has balanced her home and work life and she is strong.

So all of those girls out there who look up to their moms for any reason...it's awesome!

Awwww... I love hearing it when people love and respect their parents. So many people from our generation are always putting their parents down, it's nice to hear from someone who has a positive attitude!

I also look up to my parents. They both came from very poor backgrounds, and worked their way through school into a very good place. I love them very much, and they have taught me to be the strong, intelligent woman I am today.

Right on to you girly, you know im in that same situation, but my father has been there to. . But she still thrives the whole time, and she gets to where she is becuz she has heart. Make 200,000 dollars if youd like but you gotta love what you do too. Good goals though. i have some similiar dreams, im glad to hear someone have goals and love the people in their lives and respect those who helped them in life. If you get my drift. I respect someone who respects their 'rents.
