Minimum Wage

Minimum wage is at 5.35 an hour. There is legislation to move it to $7 and some change. This is a good thing right? Well lets look at it another way. In todays economy, so many major companies are laying off. Small business are closing.Jobs are being outsourced to other countrie. Now we have 'baby boomers', college grads, business owners all vieing for the same jobs, to support their families. You walk into a fast food place to order a hamburger, Tommy, the boy down the street used to server you. Now it is Tommys dad and or grandpa. The people that were making $7 an hour will not benifit from the wage increase. It will just put them closer to the poverty level. Well, they are already there. You can work for a major corporation, making $10 an hour and still be able to get some kind of assistance. Raising the min. wage can have a kind of funny affect to some households too. For instance, Say a work making boxes for company X, earning $8 an hour. My daughter works at the burger joint making min. wage . I work part time, during the summer she works full time. I can no longer say to her, you don't pay the bills, because she will be the bread winner. She will be making more money than me!!!

Exactly, I already make 7 bucks an hour and that is nothing but just a little help, for gasoline alone its crazy!
minimun wage in Texas is $5.15!!!!!!!! Crazy isnt it? Barely does anything. ~<3~Love and be loved!~<3~
i know exactly what you mean! if they raise the minimum, they SHOULD raise everyone elses wage by the same amount..but the negative effect of that is that our money is soon going to lose value
