The illegal immigrant situation has gotten out of control. It is so disrespectful to march the flag of another country through the streets of the United States...and then expect that the citizens of the United States will openly accept these same people into our country? Having studied Latin American culture and knowing that the majority of the people taking part in these marches and demonstrations have extreme pride in their countries, I can't help but wonder what the reaction would be if we were to go into their homelands and march through the steets with an American flag. Furthermore, to hear that there are schools in different parts of the United States who have now banned the wearing of any flag, the American Flag included, as well as the colors from these flags to me shows that we don't have to amount of pride in our country that we should have. And as a closing remark to the situation, if we allow amnesty for those who are already in the United States, then it is just going to promote an influx of illegal immigrants into the United States. If we allow this to happen now, what's going to keep it from happening 10 years down the road?

I don't see it as disrespectful to march another country's flag in the U.S. America is a melting pot, and people should be proud of their heritage. I think people are getting mad because it's Mexicans. Would people be mad if it were the Irish waving their flags? I don't think so. I'm half-Brazilian and I feel that I have the right to march with Brazil's flag if I so choose. It's the rights of the 1st ammendment. I mean, if people are allowed to burn the flag, then why shouldn't they be allowed to wave around another country's flag?
I agree that you can be proud of your heritage but they aren't making any sense. They are coming from Mexico for a better life here in America but they are waving their flag?!?! If you are so proud of your country, go back. I was watching one of the protests on TV the other day and people had upside-down American flags and a Mexican flags in thr other hand.. Now tell me, does that make any sense? To me they are saying Fu** America, I'm proud of Mexico. All I have to say to those people is go back.
I'm half-Brazilian and proud of my heritage, but I would not want to live there due to the insanely high amounts of poverty and violence.
I know and you missed my point. The first thing I said was that you can be proud of your heritage but it doesn't make sense to wave an upside-down American flag and a Mexican flag when they want to be here.
