A bit of deaf culture exposed in Love Actually and The Stone Family...

I thought it was awesome, there was bit of deaf culture exposed in today's Hollywood films such as Love Actually and The Stone Family. Tyrone Giordano played Ashton Krusher's deaf brother in Love Actually and he also starred in The Stone Family. That was a difference from decades ago when the talkies first started to come out and some deaf were  finding it hard to find jobs in the Hollywood film industry due to the growing uses of voices unlike just merely acting with facial expressions, gestures and body languages. Back then, deaf or hoh characters were played by hearing actors not actual people who has the same physical charateristics as the character get to play the role- not only does the deaf did not get to play their own roles in which they are better candidates for such roles, but other people such as a person who is blind or so to play a role than to have someone pretend to be blind and act. Either way is ok, but to think a person who knows the situation well enough and possibly being in a situation similar to this would be a better candidate to play the role of a character with similar physical and situational characteristics as he or she has in real life. Hollywood film industry has become much more diverse, not only in racially and gender wise, but also in other aspects such as to certain abilities in certain individuals which is a huge improvement from decades ago.
