If you looked at this blog either you are obsessed with Britney Spears, one who just checks random blogs, or you belong in a group of people I view as manipulated by pop culture. In todays society not only do we read the magazines as we stand in line at the grocery store and learn as much as we can about other peoples lives. Our culture is now trying to become these movie stars our goals have shifted from wanting to be presidents or prominent business professionals to the "dumb" rich girls we see on MTV's Super Sweet Sixteen. The values of American society are all out of wack and our youth are the only ones that can put an end to it...pick up a book rather than an US weekly magazine, watch the News or CNN rather than falling a sleep to the so called "Reality Television Shows" of MTV and VH1. Please people their lives are not that much great than ours could be, happiness and sucess in whatever we do is what this country needs not a pair of Jimmy Choos and a Coach tote. Did you know that the people that take these pictures of the stars private lives are making up to about 500,000 for a great shot. We are feeding into this, without our support and interest these people wont put the stars lives in danger for money, and hey maybe we can avoid another princess Diana situation.

It is thus our mission to educate those dumb girls.
We indulge because its better than looking into our own lives: shortcomings, problems, obsessions. It's thinkless television that breeds thinkless people if they overindulge but for many its just an escape.

I am so sick of people obsessed with things like "Super Sweet Sixteen" and other OC like reality shows. These people make no contributions to our society. I would be happy if I never saw one again.
I agree with you, we need to focus on the important things, that will make our brains grow!
Blasphemy! No Jimmy Choo shoes or Coach tote. What is wrong with you. I am not a dumb valley girl blonde chick who acts like girls on my super sweet sixteen. In fact, they sicken me.
But I will not hesitate to spend some money on a pair of Manolo Blahniks. They are worth it, believe me. However, I am not advocating spending the entirety of a paycheck (hello! sales rack at Neimans...you can get a great pair of Manolos for 200-300).
I am nothing like any of those girls, but you can splurge on yourself sometimes!
Mmmm...Manolos...::drools::

i really don't see the point of paying 200 dollars on some shoes, but hey, if you want to that's absolutely fine. i doubt those shows are completely true.
