Do celebrities really have a problem paying child support or is just a way to prolong the time? Many celebrities have children that they pay child support to, but yet for some reason they dont quite make the payments or the check is not the right amount. I honestly think sometimes that some do have problems with cash flow because they have to keep searching for movie parts or acting parts or making another album. For instance, Mos Def is in court now for child support. He is ordered to pay 10,000 each month for his seven and eight-year old children.In his defense his layer states that he has money problems.In addition, to that his lawyer also says he has other children that he takes care of. This would sound like a legitimate reason, but on the other hand; Mos Def was nominated for Global Awards and has two or three movies coming out soon. If he has all this why can't he pay child support ?

I agree that celebrities like anyone else should pay child support but $10,000 a month is way too much. Yes, child support is based on income but there should really be a cut off point. Children do not cost $10,000 a month to support so in reality the ex-wife/girlfriend is pretty much just freeloading unless she is spending 100% of the money on food, clothes, and toys for the kids (which I highly doubt).

Celebrities should pay child support, but enough to pay for the childs needs, education, doctor bills, etc.
There needs to be some sort of limit on the amount that has to be paid. The wife and kids do not have to live in the lap of luxury that the stars do, but they should not be snubbed and forced to live off of nothing. There needs to be some sort of median.
