It's understandable how people hate certian political figures. A person in the public eye is always going to be under some sort of siege. But take Bush for instance. He hates the Dixie Chicks, but what they had done was not so terrible. His daily problems are something to take offense with. For instance, his "The best way to defeat the totalitarian of hate is with an ideology of hope -- an ideology of hate -- excuse me --with an ideology of hope." --George W. Bush, Fort Benning, Ga., Jan. 11, 2007...what on earth was his thinking. Simple explanation, nothing. His blunders are more broadcast over the media and internet and yet more people take offense to those standing up for what they believe in. Anyone remeber freedom of speech here? Bush can say whatever he wants but what is his excuse for stupidity? Or what about his brilliant "Make no mistake about it, I understand how tough it is, sir. I talk to families who die." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Dec. 7, 2006. Really, how can one man make so many "accidental blunders" in one presidential period? Or his brilliance of "You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror." --George W. Bush, interview with CBS News' Katie Couric, Sept. 6, 2006. This is just the beginning of this year and 2006. Or what about the country Bush is suppose to be running? I wonder at times if he needs to write down which country he currently is in power of just so he doesn't blow his own country up. Look at the stupidity of this man honestly..."I've reminded the prime minister-the American people, Mr. Prime Minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 29, 2006. Look at the mistakes this man makes. He is simply an incompetent idiot. "That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three -- three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?" --George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006. His brilliance about the country and its predeccessors, is absolutly astounding. Did he ever pass Amercian History? What about his " No Child Left Behind" act? He seems to be the reason it was created. He was one of the first children left behind.

People like him because they see him as the good-natured, but (when they disagree with him) misled country-bumpkin. In other words- oh he's so dumb that he has to be a good guy. People distrust smart politicians. They are seen as devious and conniving etc. I think that it's all a brilliant strategy. You have the likable dummy as President. People want to like him and make excuses for him. Then you have the V.P. who everbody sees as an evil person. Cheny takes all the blame
Let me guess, your a republican

No. I hate Bush as a President. Nor do I think of him as any great intellect. I hold him and his administration completely responsible for the poor situation the contry is in at the moment.
I think that he isn't a great speaker, but I do think the 'country bumpkin' aspect is played upon to make him more popular. It worked for a while. It took a while, but his responisbilities are catching up to him now.
Excuse me but people don't want to like Bush. They want to hate him because everything he has done wrong while in office. The one the TRY to like him are his supporters. How could you support someone who has no idea on how to run a country. I don't care if you stumble or phrases or words all the time, but you better be doing a damn good job. Hell he doesn't even write his own speeches, that's why he stumbles over the words-because he has to sound them out first.
