The question is where do you see yourself in 10 years? Most people answer in the hopes of owning a home, better car, more money, or better position at thier job. The question that I propose to you is 2017 (10 years where do you see EARTH) What happens if having a better job or car, owning a home, or having more money are no longer important. What if because our neglect to EARTH we are forced to care about having Fresh water to Drink, HOw to survive Tsunami attacks or better yet how to survive a Level 8 Hurricane. Yes I know we all think that is sooo Far Fetched. That will never happen. R U soooo SURE? Have you been paying attention to the families in Greenland and Iceland forced to move from their land because it is non liveable. Due to the flood from the Glaciers? The sudden rise of Maleria in the Southern Hemisphere. or better yet right here in AMerica there is SEVERE drought the the South East and Extrememe Fires onthe West Coast. Over 100,000 Homes burned. I do understand that we have Hurricanes, Drought, Fires,Tsunami's,etc. WHat I am pointing out is the SEVERITY of them in the last 3 yrs. If we continue on the path that we are on we will be living on EARTH but not as we know it to be. Many Coast will be gone, Millions homeless, we will be forced in land on the continents, surrounded by SEA WATER and having none to drink. IT will be a breading ground for Disease and many will die. Yoyu think this is too far fetch... I dare you to do your research... see wheere will be of continue. Just Remember we have the power to CHangethis NOW. How do youwant your children to grow up? Life on Earth with blue skies or life in a bubble or worst yet them never being born becuase you died.
The environment on earth has a natural cycle. Last year it was the east coast being flooded and the 'flyover country' in a severe drought.
This year we got months of floods in oklahoma and texas, and no rain out east.
it is a cycle. All of it is a cycle. We've had ice ages and thaws before, and they're coming again.
stop listening to Al Gore. HE doesn't even believe what he says, or he wouldn't fly his fuel sucking jets, to meet a train of suvs and limos that suck fuel to go to his home that uses more power in a month than your home uses in a year.
his talk about global warming is to get us all to buy carbon credits from the company that he does.... which he owns. Many of the scientists that have been quoted by him and the UN studies have been angered at the conclusions drawn by Gore and by the UN, and wholly disagree with them.
the temperatures have gone up by about a degree over the last century or so... but when we were babies, the threat was global cooling as the temperatures had been going down.

Many people assume the world doesn't change much. May I present though that some time in the past, all the continents were a single Pangaea? =) Evidence is starting to indicate that it happened pretty quickly, too... check out the hydroplate theory for tectonics.
I think we need to prepare for what we can and not panic about the things we can't change or foresee.
