Why Blog?
I blog for several differing reasons. I blog because I like to talk and I like to learn. I also like to just plain share what I know. Some days I start out all fired up to share a message with others so I write for them. Those are days when my journalist side comes out. In the process I might express ideas I didn't know I wanted to clarify until they were up on the screen. Writing about a topic often makes me examine WHY I like or don't like something. Explaining something to others makes you put evidence on the table and think logicaly about whether your views make any sense. Sharing what I know helps others get where they are going faster too. If I know something that will help you, I love to blog about it.
Other days I blog and I am simply talking to myself like a journal. On those days it might be just incidental to me that others in public are also reading my words. I am not writing for a reader or to teach anybody. I am clarifying what I know for myself. Life gets going pretty fast for me sometimes and it is nice to just have a sounding board for myself --with a few comments from friends and other readers thrown in. Most bloggers on the sites where I blog are also my age so it is nice to hear what they have to say. But I try not to be a B-lainer. Blainers are bloggers who only complain in their personal blogs. All they do is rant and rave and vent. I don't want to do that. Even in my personal blog, I try to keep things from getting down in the dumps. Nobody wants to read a blainers blog day after day after day. And I think it would be depressing to look at life like that.
Blog for whatever reasons hit you each day. Whether for personal reasons or to share knowledge or just to sound off-- just blog. I sure do! It's fun!
