Things are really changing these days, professional jobs are requiring more and more education. When I first started college I remember thinking "oh yeah, I'll get this degree and then I'll be making the big money" boy was I wrong! Most of the jobs that I'll be able to do with only a bachelors are just a step up from factory work. Some are a little better paying but their still the kind of jobs that will drag you down and leave you burned out after 5yrs. So when I expanded my search for jobs that I feel would really make a great career I found that I at least had to have a Master's degree to be considered. I mean, I got a 4yr. degree isn't that enough? How do you all feel about this? Is getting a Master's part of your plan? Are their "good" jobs available in the field you wish to work in with just a bachelors?

That's really accurate and rather frustrating.
Yeah I agree. Its kinda clever, keep people furthering their education but what about people who can't afford grad school or barely made it out with a bachelor's. It's a little disheartening, especially since I'm graduating next May.

It is very frustrating. Right now I'm working towards my Associates Degree so I really feel that I'm so far away from what I need to be able to have a decent job and live comfortably in my area. School is expensive and unfortunaly all the new education requirements seem to benefit those who already have the money and can already afford the education, not those like myself who are struggling to just get by and pay the bills!
I agree with what Sunshinedreem said and I've been looking for web design jobs and most of the postings (on Monster and Careerbuilder) require you to have a bachelor's degree. So, hope that helps!
that's the sad truth....America and it's schools are growing, which means that the standards of most jobs are increasing. Your best bet, as well as all of ours', is to continue with as much education as we can, achieving that Master's...because the demands have grown, people are progressing educationally....=/
Sad truth indeed. -_-
Good luck with everything! Hopefully you will find what you are looking for, but don't worry, I'm sure there are jobs out there that don't require that extra degree...it's all about researching, unless you've already researched it all...then i guess it's 231 more years of school left for all of us.

that undergrad is going to have no value anymore, one has to go for higher education such as Grad School or like in med school/pharmacy/dentistry/law school or something, unless you go ito engineering/teaching or something else similar, that can also get you a job once you are out..

I'm getting my BA in sociology right now, and no one needs me! I may have to get my Master's just to find ANY job better than fast food!
