Last night while watching America's Most Wanted I saw this heart-wrenching story.
A teenager boy had kidney failure and needed a transplant. His single mother gave him one of her kidneys, but his body rejected it.
As a last resort she went and found his father, who was in jail for numerous crimes. He had hearings so the court could decide whether or not they should let him go have tests done to see if he was a match.
Finally they agreed and he got the preliminary tests done and he was a perfect match for his son. Then he had to go do a few more tests before the operation, but he escaped when going for the 2nd tests.
His son had his hopes up so high at a possible kidney, and then the father just flees? Does he have no soul whatsoever? It's absolutely disgusting. And the man had cried to the judge to let him get the tests because his boy was dying and he was the only chance of his boy's survival. And then he just leaves? I mean, at least if he had given up the kidney and then escaped. Can you imagine what the boy feels like? To know your own father doesn't even care if you die and that he had the chance of saving your life but chose not to? It's so sad. I really hope they catch this boy's father and lock him up for life.
I know many people in the world are screwed up, but how can you be so selfish? I just can't even imagine.

As for escaping after giving away the kidney - you're probably not going to want to escape right after you lose a kidney, are you?
They'll probably find him and he'll agree to go through the surgery again in hopes of escaping, but this time it'll be more secure.

If a society is willing to give freedom for temporary security, they deserve neither.
He has a point, the guy would have been in no condition to escape after just having surgety. In fact, they would have sent him back to jail probably two days after the surgery to let him recover there under supervision because of his crimes; you do not have to be in a hospital to recooperate. His actions anger me too, but some people are beneath my understanding, so I have stopped trying. There are too many twisted people in this world to spend my time trying to understand each one of them.
I hope that the little boy finds a match very soon. I hope that his father dies alone in jail while watching himself rot, ok that's abit harsh, but thats how low down he is.
