This is a short little... poem type thing that I wrote up just now, thinking about all the wars that have been started over different races. It's a touchy subject, I know. But I needed to talk about it. Ever since I was little, I've been friends with everyone, regardless of race. I'm sure you're thinking that everyone is that way, nowadays. But while I was growing up, and my best friend was an African American girl in an all white community, people had something to say about it. It was hard to hear the things that people would say about our friendship, but we got through it. And though we have gone our separate ways, it really taught me a lesson.
The Only real race
Is the human race.
That statement should be enough to shake continents.
You and I are no different.
You one skin type
and I another.
Underneath we are both the same
Water, blood, organs, brains, even the useless appendix
Feelings, thoughts, beliefs
they're all still there
Regardless of race, gender, and religion
and there is nothing that will change
Try as you may to say it is not true
But karma will come back to bite you in the butt
You don't believe in karma?
Yeah well neither does the next guy
But I dont hate him for having different beliefs
Or religious outlooks
If we were all one race
on group of alike beings
Would you ever be satisfied?
Race brings color to the world
Race brings diversity
Race brings expansion
Saying that you hate
Because of a race
Is ignorance
And ignorance is bliss?
No. It isn't.
Ignorance is what brings countries to war
Ignorance kills.
Enlightenment is bliss.
