The Leonardo Code

Okay. I'm all for poetic licenses...but calling a book the Da Vinci Code is just off base. ll art students can know that no one, and I mean NO ONE ever calls Leonardo da Vinci "da Vinci". Da Vinci just means "of Vinci". Dan Brown is seriously off base when calling his fiction (but meant to affect the world as a non-fiction) "the Da Vinci Code". It should be called "the Leonardo Code".
Now, this "mis-titling" is only one evidence of the innaccuracy of the Da Vinci Code book. There are several bits of information that are very off-base. In Brown's defense, it IS a fictional book, so yeah, use your poetic license, buddy. But how many people out there that have either read the book or plan on seeing the movie already have or are going to take those bits of information (which mold the Da Vinci Code into what it is) as fact.
If you are intrigued or just a fellow skeptic of the Da Vinci Code and what it is claiming, then I recommend reading "The Da Vinci Code: A Quest for Answers" by Josh McDowell. Great book, very informative, with great foundation and citations so that you can research the topics yourself.

I think the whole idea is crazy...maybe it's because I'm a Christian, or maybe it's because he made the whole thing up and then presented it as "facts" and then said it was fiction! I know I haven't the book, so I have to right to say anything, but I have heard enough about it to know most of the "story". And it's untrue, all of it. Made up to make a good story.

Exactly! It's a good story, but all its going to do is confuse Christians who have any doubt in their faith or God at all! This is definitely something I think that Satan is using to tear down Christians and cast a huge amount of doubt on Christianity worldwide.

Yes, I agree again! The guy who wrote the story isn't a Christian, and that's why Satan picked him. (in my opinion)

I liked the book because of it's story - even if I do realise that it's PURE FICTION. But why should we expect to find so exact and acurate information in a fiction book anyway? Do you expect the same thing from sci-fi books too? People are the ones that have to know what to believe or not. Brown was smart enough to write a book full of controversy that was sold so well. (Don't get the idea that I like Brown so much, cause I don't! But I do consider what he did an intelligent thing.) And about the "Leonardo" and "da Vinci" thing, I can assure you that the artist is called very, very often only "da Vinci", so don't take this as a mistake.

The artist is hardly ever called "da Vinci" and if he is, it's by people who aren't informed enough to Leonardo was his name and da Vinci is just a description of where he lived. Art students/historians/professors know better than to make this mistake.

i think he got sued for having twisted the story line. not everything in the book are facts. but i must admit, the book had me hooked

This book was excellent. Brown presented the book as fiction, and I think that the argument presented by the book is brilliant and gave me something to think about. However, it is FICTION, so anyone who takes it as fact, well, that's their problem. People will believe what they want to believe... Maybe people are looking for someone to tell them that Jesus was a joke???

It's a book, how can people believe this? Heck, why not say that jesues was a women while they are at it. Would people believe that too?

The book has facts in it raises the truth about marys gospels to main stream but misrepresents them. It's not a pack of lies it's a thriller novel of fiction base though it uses paintings and hiden to represent real life that we all sit in is just a tale.

A example of fact is jews a group of tribes that formed one tribe beleived in mutliple gods and even who we call god today there main god today has a wife. But was deleted later.

There are facts that cant be brushed of after they have beenr raised in a tale. Can people be Enlightened to the truth and stop beleiving in books. Are you that dumb.

But in it it talks of the dead sea scrolls these scrolls are as very factual as the bible infact more so. Power political games are always played look at relgion today and it was worse in the past were gods word was passed on in different ways. Anyone dumb enough to beleive the book should be shot, much like people who beleive the bible. Common sense and a little beleif and you can think up your own da vinci code or theory but remember the bible is just as imaginative and rediculas if not more so.

It requires more faith to take the long route around a god.
